THE YOUNGER GENERATION

My name is Karen Audcent. I was born in Canada and am the daughter of John and Mary, grand-daughter of Gerard and Eileen. I have also lived in the U.S.A. and in Australia. I spent a wonderful year in Australia, travelling and getting to know my Australian cousins. This was great - there are so few Audcents in Canada (or anywhere on Earth for that matter!)

I am interested in the family and would be thrilled to meet any family members who would like to visit Ottawa. I am currently studying law at the University of Ottawa and expect to graduate this spring (1998). Je parle Francais et j'aimerais bien rencontrer my cousins et cousines francaises aussi. David has my email address, so if you wish to contact me, write to him and ask for it.

Geoffrey David AUDCENT (1962-    )

I was born at Weston-Super-Mare in 1962 and was brought up in Cheddar. After leaving school I read for a Combined Honours degree in History and Geography at the University of Birmingham (obtaining an Upper Second degree). I then joined the Civil Service, working across a range of functions carried out by the Departments of Transport and Environment, including early preparatory work for the Channel Tunnel, introduction of new computer systems, personnel, and land use planning. I currently work for the Government Office for the South West, based in Bristol and live halfway between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

I married Sandra (Russell) in 1987 and we have two boys, Joseph (b 1989) and Andrew (b 1992).  I am particularly interested in family history. With the role of 'family historian' already occupied in respect of the Audcent family, I have concentrated on my mother's side. My main research has been into the King, Cottrell , Alsop, Raines and Thomas families.  More recently I have started to research Sandra's family history, and in particular the families of Russell (Bristol, 1828 to present), Meek (Bristol and Gloucestershire, 1785 to present) and Wits (Wiltshire, 1800 to present).  Further details, including my address and telephone number, can be obtained from my uncle David Audcent.
